Good Faith Estimate Notice

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your mental health care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including therapy services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including therapy services.
You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Who do you work with?

I provide individual therapy to adults (18 +) and some of the issues I work with are:

  • Impostor Syndrome
  • Broken Heart
  • Feeling lost in life’s transitions
  • Lack of motivation and meaning
  • Feeling burned out at work
  • Wanting to find ways to communicate with your partner and express feelings and needs
  • Grieving the loss of identity or faith and feeling a void as a result
  • Navigating complicated relationships with family, especially on setting boundaries
Do you provide online and/or in person therapy?

Currently I only provide online therapy (video and phone) through Simple Practice. In person therapy will be available in early to mid 2023.

Do you take insurance?

I do not take insurance but at the end of every month I will provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company. Before booking an appointment, I suggest calling the number at the back of your insurance card inquiring about your “out of network” therapy benefits and learning how to submit an out-of-network reimbursement claim.

I am also a provider through Path Mental Health in California only; through this service, it is possible that I can take your insurance.

How much do you charge per session?

I charge $160 per session and I accept payment through the Simple Practice page at the time of the appointment.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellation policy is 24 hours. In one year, client will be given 4 sessions to miss without having to pay for them, not including the weeks when I will be away. If more than 4 sessions in a year are missed, they will have to be paid.

How long are the sessions?

Sessions are 45 minutes.

What happens during the first session?

During our first session, I invite you to share as much as you want and feel comfortable about yourself. I'd like to know your goals for treatment as well as when you would know that therapy is over for you. You can feel free to ask me questions you might have. My approach is open-ended, I value free association and generally let the client lead the way.

How often do you meet with clients?

We meet once a week. Typically at the same time and day but can be flexible around that depending on your unique situation.
